Bridging the technological lag & skills gap of social economy sector
The Social Economy (SE) sector is a vital pillar of the European ecosystem, driving social inclusion and local development.
However, it currently faces two critical challenges:
- a technological lag in adopting digital tools
- a skills gap regarding data-driven decision-making.

TECH4IMPACT emerges from the need to modernize this ecosystem. While traditional businesses rapidly adopt AI and Big Data to optimize performance, Social Economy entities often lack the accessible tools to measure their social value or the training to navigate the digital transition. There is a pressing need for a holistic solution that not only provides the technology (Intelligent Platforms) but also the necessary education (Curriculum) and the regulatory framework (Policy Recommendations) to ensure sustainability.
Overall Objectives
The primary aim of TECH4IMPACT is to foster the digital transformation of the Social Economy ecosystem by developing intelligent tools for impact monitoring and upskilling the workforce.
The project focuses on four specific strategic objectives:
Develop an Intelligent Digital Ecosystem
To design and deploy a user-centric digital platform (WP3, WP4) featuring an Interactive Impact Dashboard. This tool will leverage computational intelligence and real-time data to help SE organizations visualize their performance, enhancing transparency and operational efficiency.
Bridge the Digital Skills Gap
To design and pilot a specialized Educational Curriculum (WP5) that empowers the SE workforce. By providing training on digital tools and impact management, the project ensures that technology adoption is inclusive and that human capital is prepared for the future.
Quantify and Validate Social Impact
Shape Future Policy
To translate operational findings into high-level strategic advice. Through Final Policy Recommendations (D5.8), the project aims to guide national and EU policymakers in creating a supportive regulatory environment that facilitates the scalability and sustainability of the Social Economy.
